1. Who We Are
Shamba Protect is an agricultural information service for African farmers, providing market prices, weather forecasts, plant disease diagnosis, and cash-flow tools. Contact us at shambasmart7@gmail.com.
2. Data We Collect
- Email address — used solely for authentication (sign-in / magic link).
- Plant photos — uploaded voluntarily for AI diagnosis; processed transiently and not stored permanently.
- Location — requested for local weather; never stored on our servers.
- Cash-flow & diagnosis records — stored locally on your device only (localStorage), scoped to your account.
- News bookmarks & read status — stored locally on your device, scoped to your account.
3. How We Use Your Data
- Authenticate you securely via Supabase (PKCE flow).
- Deliver weather, market price, and plant-health features.
- We do not sell, share, or monetise your personal data.
- We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

5. Data Retention
Your authentication record is retained in Supabase until you delete your account. Local device data is cleared when you delete your account or uninstall the app.
6. Your Rights
- Access — request a copy of your data at any time.
- Correction — update your email via account settings.
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data from the Profile → Delete Account option in the app, or email us.
- Portability — export your cash-flow data as CSV from within the app.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security: HTTPS for all connections, PKCE authentication flow, and user-scoped data isolation. We never store passwords.
8. Children
Shamba Protect is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via in-app notice or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
